Officers had to deploy a Taser twice on man who claimed to be a ninja and tried to assault a deputy, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
David Anthony Britton, 28, of Skinner Mill Road, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was placed in the Aiken County detention center, where he remained Monday morning.
Officers responded to a suspicious person at a home on Todd Avenue in North Augusta just after midnight Sunday, according to a sheriff’s report.
They found Britton passed out on the front porch and woke him up, at which point he “jumped up into a fighting stance and appeared agitated,”according to the report.
Britton complied when instructed to sit down, police said. When asked if he lived at the home, he said no.
Britton appeared to be under the influence of an unknown narcotic, and when asked by deputies, he said he was “on jiu jitsu” and that “he was a ninja,” the report states.
When officers tried to arrest Britton, he turned around and swung his fist in an attempt to strike a deputy, according to the report.
He continued resisting and kicking until an officer deployed his Taser, police said.
Officers picked up Britton and placed him on the ground, at which point he continued resisting, police said.
After an officer deployed a “drive stun,” Britton complied and was handcuffed.
Britton also has a hold on him for Columbia County, Georgia.
